Day 1-15
Day 01: Sydney - Kathmandu Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building after which you will be transferred to your hotel. Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked sovereign state located in South Asia. It is located in the Himalayas and bordered to the north by the People's Republic of China, and to the south, east, and west by the Republic of India. Kathmandu is the nation's capital and the country's largest metropolis. Nepal has a rich geography. The mountainous north has eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including the highest point on Earth, Mount Everest (8884 M). It contains more than 240 peaks over 20,000 ft (6,096 m) above sea level. The fertile and humid south is heavily urbanized. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check-in. Overnight stay in hotel. Day 02: Kathmandu Early morning, enjoy the Ultimate Experience Mountain Flight. MOUNTAIN FLIGHT offers the closest possible aerial views of Mount Everest and the Tibetan Plateau. Return to the hotel. After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Thamel. Boudhanath (UNESCO World Heritage Site) situated about 6 Km from city centre is the centre of Tibetan culture in Nepal. The 36-meter-high Stupa of Boudhanath is one of the largest Stupa in South Asia. Boudhanath Stupa was renovated by Licchavi rulers in the eighth century. The mandala design in Boudhanath is a copy of the one in Gyangtse in Tibet. The stupa is said to entomb the remains of a Kasyap sage venerable both to Buddhists and to Hindus. Witness Kora - circumbulation of stupa by Buddhists with prayer's wheel and rosary in their hands and preaching -OM MANE PADME HUM. You may like to lit-up a butter lamp to complete your visit at the temple. Swayambhunath (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is believed to have been established more than 2,500 years ago. An inscription dated 460 A.D. states that the construction was carried out by King Manadeva. By the thirteenth century Swayambhunath had developed into an important Buddhist learning site. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in parts of the temple in the North-West. Swayambhunath occupies a central position; it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist West. Kathmandu Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is located in the heart of old city Kathmandu. The complex was residence to Nepal's family before the construction of the Narayanhiti Palace. The founding of the Palace dates back to Licchavi times. With considerable renovations by Malla rulers and later the Ranas, construction was accomplished progressively over many centuries. There are around 50 temples in the vicinity including the temple of titu lar deity, Taleju Bhawani. The Durbar is divided into two courtyards, the outer comprising Kasthamandap, Kumari Ghar, and Shiva-Parvati Temple, and the inner consisting of Hanuman Dhoka and the main palace. It also houses two museums. Important ceremonies, including the coronation of the Nepali monarch, are held in the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Most parts of the palace premise are open for tourists throughout the week during office hours. Later, enjoy the rickshaw ride to Thamel area through the narrow street of Kathmandu. Sit back and relax as your cycle rickshaw is expertly navigated through the buzzing backstreets of this energetic place. The adventure will take you to the touristic heart of the city, Thamel. The streets here are lined with shops selling everything from pastries to pashminas, and your rickshaw seat provides the perfect platform for you to do a spot of window-shopping along the way. Soak up the hive of activity taking place as you zip through this popular part of town. Later, enjoy the Welcome Dinner with Cultural Dance Performance. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, D) Day 03:Kathmandu - Chitwan Transfer to Kathmandu airport in the morning, and board the flight to Bharatpur. Later, travel by surface to Chitwan. The Royal Chitwan National Park stands as a successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia. This is the first national park of Nepal established in 1973 to preserve a unique ecosystem significantly valuable to the whole world. The park covering a pristine area of 932 sq. km is situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of southern central part of Nepal. There are more than 43 species of mammals in the park. The park is renowned for the protection of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, tiger, gharial Crocodile along with many other common species of wild animals. The estimated population of endangered species of animals such as gaur, wild elephant, four horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, gangetic dolphin, monitor lizard and python, chital, hog deer, barking deer, sloth, palm civet, wild dog, langur, rhesus monkey, etc. Late afternoon, visit the local Tharu village to learn more about their lifestyle, culture, religion etc. Tharu are the oldest tribes in this region and have more than 100 years of history. It is also called people immune to malaria since they are only tribes that survive in this area when it was maltreated by malaria before it was eradicated in the 1960s. Enjoy the BBQ Dinner in Chitwan. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 04:Chitwan Enjoy Jeep Safari in the National Park in the morning, Jeep Safari is an exciting ride on an open top jeep into the dense forest of jungle. It is possible to closely observe the wild animals as well as take their snaps during jeep safari. Jeep Safari offers relative safety from wild animals. As Jeep Safari are operated with regularly inside the jungle. The wild animals are used to the right of jeeps carrying tourists, and generally do not run away when the jeep gets nearby. The safari operators also stop the vehicle of any wild animal is encountered or seen from a distance. Thus, the jeep safari is an excellent way to observe the wild animals. Later, enjoy Canoe Ride in Rapti River. Start sailing in a traditional patela boat for about 45 minutes, which will take you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to see waterfowl, crocodiles, gharials and animals from the riverbanks. Day 05:Chitwan - Pokhara (150 Kms/ 05 Hrs) Morning transfer to Bandipurairport and board flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokhara, transfer to the hotel. Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty. Situated at an altitude of 900m from the sea level and 200 Km west of Kathmandu valley, the city is known as a center of adventure. The enchanting town has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. The serenity of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic. Rest of the day is at leisure

Day 06: Pokhara Early morning, visit to Sarangkot for sunrise view of Annapurna Mountain Range. Sarangkot is a small hilltop which is famous for its breath-taking view of sunrise across Annapurna range and Fishtail Mountain. From here, you can see a panoramic sweep of Himalayan peaks, from Dhaulagiri (8167m) in the west to the perfect pyramid that is Machhapuchhare (6997m) and the rounded peak of Annapurna II (7937m) in the east. Most people come here at dawn, when the sun picks out the peaks in brilliant colours. Visit to Bindabashini Temple. Bindabashini Temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Durga is located near the busy Old Bazaar of Pokhara. The white pagoda-styled building at some 3000 feet above sea level is of great religious importance to Hindus living in Pokhara. People throng to this temple daily and also offer sacrifices of animals. One may also get to witness a Hindu wedding ceremony taking place in the temple premises. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later, visit Old Bazaar and World Peace Pagoda. Old Bazaar is considered as an old trading juncture where two merchants from two different continents used to converge to trade, business between the 18th century and the mid-20th century, when Pokhara was having a golden trading era as a commercial centre. This has been the reason why this place has historical significance. Besides that, we can enjoy the deep residential architecture of the Malla dynasty of Nepal, with some old, primitive and traditional residential houses that stand out as Pokhara heritage. Peace Pagoda is a Buddhist stupa designed to provide a focus for people of all races and creeds, and to help unite them in their search for world peace. Most (though not all) have been built under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii (1885-1985), a Buddhist monk from Japan and founder of the Nipponzan-Myohoji Buddhist Order. Fujii was greatly inspired by his meeting with Mahatma Gandhi in 1931 and decided to devote his life to promoting non-violence. In 1947, he began constructing Peace Pagodas as shrines to World peace. Balanced on a narrow ridge high above Phewa Lake, the brilliant-white Peace Pagoda of Pokhara offers spectacular views of the Annapurna range and Lake Phewa. Pilgrims climb the hill using paths from the different parts of the city or take a boat across the lake and begin their climb at the shore. Later, enjoy the boat ride at Phewa Lake. Phewa Lake is the main centre of attraction in Pokhara and the second largest lake in the Kingdom. It is the largest and most enchanting of the three lakes that add to the resplendence of Pokhara. Here, one can sail or row a hired boat across to the water or visit the island temple in the middle. Evening, enjoy dinner at a lakeside restaurant. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, D)
Day 07:Pokhara to Kathmandu After breakfast, transfer to Pokhara airport to board the flight for Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Later, visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is located in the center of Bhaktapur city. The Square is one of the most charming architectural showpieces of the Valley as it highlights some of the finest medieval arts of Nepal. The main items of interest in Bhaktapur Durbar Square are the Lion Gate, the Golden Gate and the statues of kings on stone monoliths. The Golden Gate was erected by King Ranjit Malla as the entrance to the main courtyard of the Fifty-five Windowed Palace. Participate in a Pottery workshop. In Bhaktapur, the tradition of making pottery is still alive. This can be best seen at the two adjoining pottery squares. During the daytime you can see people working the traditional way and spinning their wheels to make all sorts of ceramics out of the big masses of clay stored around the place. Amidst this inspiring scenery your pottery workshop is organized in one of the dwelling houses just next to pottery square. During daily operation this is a real workshop where everyday hundreds of pots are made. You will get a chance to experience and practice the art of pottery making. Rest of the day is at leisure. Day 08: Kathmandu, Nepal - Paro, Bhutan Paro to Thimphu (55 Kms / 1.5 Hours) Morning, transfer to Kathmandu airport and board the flight for Paro. The flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular in entire Himalayas. The journey offers fascinating views and an exciting descent into the Kingdom. Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. After immigration formalities and baggage collection, you will be met by our representative and assisted to your awaited vehicle for the drive to Thimphu. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan and is the most modern city in Bhutan with an abundance of restaurants, internet cafes, nightclubs and shopping centres, however it still retains its' cultural identity and values amidst the signs of modernization. Upon arrival in Thimphu, transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, D)
Day 09:Thimphu After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Thimphu Valley including Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), the Institute for Zorig Chusum, Textile Museum and King's Memorial Chorten. Buddha Point is one of the most happening points in Thimphu. It is locally named Buddha Point but the actual name is Kuensel Phodrang. It is called the Buddha point because the largest statue of Buddha in the country sits there. The 51.5-meter bronze statue is three storied with several chapels. The body of Buddha is filled with 125000 smaller statues of Buddha. Institute for Zorig Chusum is commonly known as -the painting school, operates four- to six-year courses that provide instruction in Bhutan's 13 traditional arts. Students specialise in painting (furniture, thangka's – painted religious pictures, usually on canvas), woodcarving (masks, statues, bowls), embroidery (hangings, boots, clothes) or statue-making (clay). National Textile Museum showcases Bhutan's textiles that are an integral part of its cultural and heritage and are unique for their diversity and sophistication. Textile Museum at Thimphu has given a new platform to the nation's textiles and Bhutanese weave rs and boasts of an invaluable collection of antique textile artifacts of Bhutan. Some of the museum's gems are the pearl robe from Tsamdrak Goenpa, crowns of Bhutan's Kings, Namzas (dresses) and other accessories worn by the Royal Family, personal bedding of His Holiness Zhabdrung Jigme Dorji and the first version of the Raven Crown. King's Memorial Chorten This large impressive monument with its golden spire was built in 1974 to honour the memory of the third King, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (1928 -1972). Built by his mother Her Majesty the late Queen Ashi Phuntsho Choden Wangchuck, the whitewashed chorten is decorated with richly carved annexes facing the four directions, and features elaborate mandalas, statues and a shrine dedicated to the popular third king. There are numerous religious paintings and complex tantric statues housed inside reflecting both peaceful and wrathful aspects of Buddhist deities. The memorial chorten, with its sun-catching golden finial, is one of the most visible religious structures in Thimphu, and for many people it is the focus of their daily worship. Evening visit Trashichhoe Dzong. Tashichho Dzong is the seat of the Royal Government and Central Monastic Body. It was rebuilt in the early 1960's after a fire destroyed most of the building. The amazing thing about this building is that it was built without a single drawing or a single nail. Enjoy Welcome Dinner in Thimphu. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, L, D) Day 10:Thimphu - Punakha (70 kms / 3 Hrs) Morning, by surface travel to Punakha. En-route visit the Dochu-la Pass. Dochu-la Pass is the most known pass in Bhutan, about 24 km drive from Thimphu. It is at around 3080 mts height. On a clear day it gives a spectacular view of the mighty Himalayas Mountain ranges. The pass is known to have 108 Stupas or the Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chhortens which is believed brings multi fold merit to all sentient beings and which make the pass a must visit place. Participate in Prayer hoisting at Dochu la pass. Punakha served as the capital of the country from 1637 to 1907. Punakha district is a significant place in Bhutanese history and it is still given the importance it deserves. One of the most beautiful valleys in Bhutan it attracts many tourists. With Phochhu (male) and Mochhu (female) rivers flowing through the valley, the fertile land of Punakha is popular for growing organic vegetables, fruits and rice. Later, visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang – the Temple of Fertility. Punakha Dzong or (Palace of Great Happiness), built at the junction of the Phochu and Mochu rivers in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. This majestic dzong served as both the religious and the administrative center of Bhutan in the past. It measures some 600 by 240 feet and has a six-story, gold-domed tower. Inside are courtyards and religious statuary that hint at the depth of history and spiritual tradition embodied here. Your guide will illuminate your understanding of this intricate culture that is exotic to us though long established here. Chimi Lhakhang, situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, also known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that couples who do not have children and wanting one, if they pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon. The trail leads across rice fields to the tiny settlement of Pana, meaning field. A walk through the village near the temple will give you rare glimpses into the daily life and lifestyle of the villagers. Later, visit Traditional Farmhouse for Tea and Snacks. The beauty of Bhutan is embellished by cluster of quaint farm houses. Bhutanese farm houses are very colourful, decorative and traditionally built with mud and stones and without the use of single nail. All houses follow the same architectural pattern. A visit to Farm House & interaction with locals is very interesting and offers a good glimpse into the lifestyle of village folks. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, L, D) Day 12:Punakha - Paro (140 Kms 40 Hrs) Morning, travel by surface to Paro. Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. Upon arrival in Paro, transfer to hotel. Evening, proceed to visit Rinpung Dzong and Ta Dozng. Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) means "Fortress on a Heap of Jewels". It was built in 1646 AD by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. A walk through the bridge to the Dzong, over a stone inlaid path, offers a good view of the Dzong. It houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. Ta Dzong, at the top of the hill above Paro Dzong is an old watchtower that was renovated in 1968 to house the National Museum. It showcases a collection of fine arts, paintings and bronzes are famous. There are also textiles, jewellry, and handicrafts sections as well as galleries of stuffed animals and butterflies from Bhutan. Evening is at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B, L, D) Day 13:Paro After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Taktshang Monastery or Tiger's Nest (4 hours walk). Tiger's Nest is the popular name of Taktsang Palphug Monastery (also known as Tiger's Nest), a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley, in Bhutan. A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup (stag tshang seng ge bsam grub) cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. The hike to the monastery can be broken down into various stages. The first stage is the trek to the cafeteria (where lunch will be served later today) which is situated on a rocky outcrop across a ravine from the monastery. This leg of the trek takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. The 2nd stage of the walk is from the cafeteria to the lookout opposite the monastery. This leg takes close to one hour. The 3rd stage is the trek/climb down the 475 steps in the cliff face to the bottom of the ravine which crosses over a stream and waterfall before the path again ascends another 300 odd steps to the entrance of the monastery. Once there you should be able to enter into the monastery and view the cave where Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal meditated (cameras are not allowed inside the monastery). The visit and climb to the entrance and back to the lookout will take approximately one hour. Afternoon is free for Wellness activities in the resort. Evening, enjoy farewell dinner. Upon arrival in Katmandu, check-in to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel. (Meals: B) Day 15:Kathmandu - Sydney After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu International terminal to travel home to Australia. (Meal: B)
